Minimising energy use and carbon emissions, including retaining between 40% and 50% of the existing structures and remodelling the facades.

Increasing urban greening and associated biodiversity and the wellbeing of future occupiers of the building.

Enhancing inclusivity and accessibility to the building.

Ensuring longevity of a future-proofed site.

Preserving and enhancing the local character of the building.

Exploring new employment opportunities using existing partnerships.
